The short version

Tallymark is an offline scorekeeper for pickleball, darts and anything else you count. Your games and sessions live on your device. We never receive them, because there is no account and no server to send them to. Tallymark runs no sign-in and no analytics.

The one exception is the free version, which shows ads through Google AdMob. That involves your device's advertising identifier, and only with your consent. The rest of this page explains what that means and how to switch it off.

What stays on your device

Games, players, sessions, presets and round-robin schedules are stored locally on your phone. We do not collect them or transmit them. You can export any of it to a plain JSON file and keep that file wherever you like. Delete the app and the data goes with it.

Advertising (free version only)

The free version shows ads through Google AdMob. With your consent, AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier to personalize them. On iPhone, Apple's App Tracking Transparency treats this as tracking, so you see the system prompt asking whether to allow it.

Decline the prompt, or decline consent, and you still get ads. They just are not personalized. Buy Pro and you get no ads at all.

You can read more in Google's advertising partner policies.

Consent

Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, Tallymark uses Google's User Messaging Platform to ask for your consent before any personalized ad is served. On iPhone you also see Apple's tracking prompt. You can change your mind later: reopen the consent options in the app, or reset the advertising identifier and tracking permission in your device settings.

Purchases

Pro, Organizer and the bundle are one-time purchases handled by Apple or Google. We receive only the fact that you bought something, which is what turns the feature on. We never see your card number or billing details.

Buying Pro removes ads completely. For a Pro user the ad code is never initialized, so the advertising identifier is never touched.

What we do not do

To be blunt about it:

  • No accounts and no sign-in.
  • No servers holding your data.
  • No analytics watching how you play.
  • No selling your data to anyone.
  • No profile of you beyond the advertising identifier you consented to.

Children

Tallymark is not directed at children. Because the free version uses AdMob and an advertising identifier, we ask that a parent or guardian handle setup for younger players, or buy Pro so no ads or identifiers are involved.

Your choices

  • Reset your advertising identifier in your device settings at any time.
  • Decline tracking or consent and keep using the app with non-personalized ads.
  • Buy Pro to switch ads off entirely.
  • Export your data to JSON, or delete everything by deleting the app.

Third parties

The only third parties involved are Google, for AdMob ads and UMP consent, and Apple or Google for handling a purchase. There is no one else in the loop. For Google's side of it, see the Google Privacy Policy.
